PAST PETS
I have had alot of different animals in my life.
I have had a pet goat, pony, horse, mule, donkey, duck, chicken, cats, dogs, rabbit, rats, hamsters, fish, newts, savannah monitor and an igunia. I have learned that I am more into mammals, than reptiles. I have alot of respect for people who have reptiles. I like all animals wild and tamed.
The rooster I had as a child. We got him and 15 others from a hatchery. He was the only one that survived. I named him Rooter. He was solid white and his cone hung down over one eye. He grew to be a huge rooster. He would follow me around like a dog follows other kids. If you saw me, then you saw him. He lived about 7 years. My step-dad built him a cage so he could be inside the house with me.
The lizards I got because people were tired of them and were going to set them out. I took them in until I could get them get them forever homes. Also saved quite a few fish, because someone was going to flush them. Please don't set out animals that you no longer want or can't take care of. Find someone to take them.
Before you get any pet do some research about that animal. What kind of food, exercise, housing do they need. How long will they live? Allow for alittle longer. A good example is hamsters. Life expectancy is between 2-4 years. I had one live for 7 years though. Beta, life expectancy 1-3 years. I had one live over 5 years. I have had several that lived only a few months.
My rats were some of the coolest animals, I have ever had. They are very smart. Can train them to a halter or lease, so that you can walk them.
